Lewis Hamilton dominates again as Sebastian Vettel suffers from car problems ? Formula 1 news
McLaren?s Lewis Hamilton set the quickest pace in the third practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix once again while Red Bull?s Sebastian Vettel had to deal with car problems.
Hamilton had been successful at leading the first practice session on Friday. His teammate Jenson Button had set the second quickest pace while Vettel had been third. In the second practice session, Vettel climbed back to first leaving Hamilton and Button behind at second and third places respectively.
However, Vettel?s luck gave out in the third practice session as his car suffered from brake issues and only got on the track with four minutes remaining in the session. On the other hand, Hamilton set the quickest pace at 1'42.130 with Button following him in the second place just 0.3 seconds slower than his teammate. Vettel was still able to come in third and was also the one with the quickest pace in the middle sector.
Hamilton had been quite disappointed after the second session stating that the session had been difficult and that tyre switching might have been the cause of that including some traffic issues. He had been keeping his hopes low as he thinks that Red Bull has got the strongest car.
Vettel had appreciated the pace shown by the McLaren drivers and insists that they will have to watch out for them in the coming race and they are capable of beating his team.
Red Bull?s other driver Mark Webber had been fourth coming in 0.6 seconds slower than his teammate. Force India?s Nico Hulkenberg had been at fifth place followed by Lotus? Romain Grosjean and Williams? Pastor Maldonado.
In the eighth position, was Ferrari?s Fernando Alonso, who is Vettel?s main rival in the championship fight this season, with teammate Felipe Massa at eleventh place. He had been fourth in the first session and seventh in the second one. Ferrari has failed to show its usual pace despite that they have been stating that the new updates have been positive and breaking the curfew twice consecutively to work harder in bringing out the best car for Alonso.
